My dating journey was just like yours

My journey wasn't so smooth. I had so many ups and downs, epic fails and I'm grateful for all of those experiences.

Dating and relationships aren't things you just know. It's something you master over the years. You might learn from reading a book or watching a video. But hey, this isn't a rom com movie.

It's about your life, it's about taking responsibility for yourself and getting what you want. Yes, there's a lot to know, and some of it might feel challenging but, I'm here with you every step of the way.

I went through all kinds of setbacks, but also a lot of good moments. I learned how to embrace both the good and bad times and I survived, meeting an amazing man and living a happy and meaningful life.

If you're interested in finding your love, or you need help making your existing love life even better, then let's talk. I’m Elizabeth Tritsch, a Science- based, certified Dating & Relationship coach and Matchmaker.

The death that had to happen first

Sunday, a program I've been part of since February ended. We spent the last morning digesting everything together, then I opened a Zoom room afterward so we could digest the digesting. That's how deep it went — we needed a room just to process the room.

It was painful. Not because anything went wrong. Because of what we'd built together inside that container, and everything I learned sitting in it week after week. I've been in a lot of rooms in nine years of this work. That one changed me.

Here's what I keep coming back to, days later. Endings like that aren't failures. They're the price of becoming someone new. Something in me had to end on Sunday so a different version of me could exist going forward. Not because the old version failed. Because she'd done what she came to do, and this next chapter needs someone else at the wheel.

I don't think that's unique to a coaching program ending. I think it's the exact mechanism that has to happen before you can actually be in a relationship.

Somewhere in you is a woman who's still dating the way she's always dated.Still running the same checklist in her head instead of actually listening to him. Still waiting to see if this one's going to be different before she lets herself be different. She's not wrong, and she's not broken. She was built for an earlier chapter of your life, and she did her job. But she can't be the one who carries you into what's next. Something in her has to end — not with punishment, not with self-criticism, just with permission — before the woman who can actually receive a real relationship gets to exist.

That's the shift I want for you too. Not someday — this fall.

Two live summer coaching calls remain for the Art of Dating Academy (ADA) members — August 20 and September 1. If you're already in the room, I'll see you there.

And if you're not yet, here's your on-ramp: The Present Company Challenge opens in three weeks, on September 1. Fourteen days, completely free, built around one question — what would change if you actually believed you were ready to be found?

I'll have registration open soon. For now, just save the date. Whatever needs to end in you before September has time to happen between now and then.

Hugs,

Elizabeth
