My dating journey was just like yours

My journey wasn't so smooth. I had so many ups and downs, epic fails and I'm grateful for all of those experiences.

Dating and relationships aren't things you just know. It's something you master over the years. You might learn from reading a book or watching a video. But hey, this isn't a rom com movie.

It's about your life, it's about taking responsibility for yourself and getting what you want. Yes, there's a lot to know, and some of it might feel challenging but, I'm here with you every step of the way.

I went through all kinds of setbacks, but also a lot of good moments. I learned how to embrace both the good and bad times and I survived, meeting an amazing man and living a happy and meaningful life.

Your past didn’t break you

Your past didn’t break you

December 11, 20253 min read

I’ve been thinking about something Helen Keller once said — a line you’ve probably heard before, but maybe haven’t truly felt in your bones yet:

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens… but sometimes we stare so long at the closed door that we don’t see the one that has been opened for us.”

And I want to talk to you about this… because I know what you’ve been carrying.

The rejection that stung more than you let on.

The disappointment that made you question your worth.

The moments you replay at night, wondering what you could’ve done differently.

The feeling of being stuck when all you want is to move forward.

You’re not alone in that.

And you’re not wrong for feeling it.

I know that place intimately.

There was a relationship I once believed would last forever — truly.

The kind where you picture years ahead, shared routines, little rituals, tiny moments that would turn into a life together.

I really thought I had found the partner I’d spend the rest of my life with.

So when it ended, it felt like the foundation cracked beneath me.

Not just because my heart was broken…

but because the future I imagined disappeared overnight.

And for a while, I stared at that closed door. Hard.

Trying to make sense of what happened.

Trying to rewrite the ending in my mind.

Trying to understand how something that felt so right… could suddenly be gone.

But here’s what I eventually learned:

That door didn’t close to punish me. It closed to redirect me.

And that redirection shaped me in ways I could’ve never imagined.

It made me wiser.

More grounded.

More discerning.

More open to the kind of love that is healthy, reciprocal, and emotionally available.

The version of me who helps people find love today?

She was born in that heartbreak.

And the same is true for you.

Your experiences didn’t break you — they built you.

They carved depth, empathy, intuition, resilience, and strength into you.

They taught you what you want… and what you will never tolerate again.

You are who you are today — intentional, self-aware, and capable of deep connection — because of everything you’ve lived through.

Your heart is not behind schedule.

Your journey isn’t off track.

You’re simply in the hallway between what ended… and what is quietly opening.

And sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is lift your eyes from the door that closed —

and notice the one that’s opening right in front of you.

You are not stuck — you’re becoming.

You’re not rejected — you’re being redirected.

You’re not alone — you’re being prepared.

So as you move forward, try this with me:

Instead of seeing your past as proof that love doesn’t work for you…

see it as the training ground that shaped you into someone who no longer settles.

Because when the right person arrives — the one who is kind, consistent, emotionally available, and ready —

you will understand exactly why those other doors needed to close.

You haven’t missed anything.

Your story isn’t over.

You’re simply stepping into the part where the future starts to make sense.

And if you want help getting there…

If you’re ready to stop doing this alone…

If you want next year to finally be the year you get into a loving, healthy relationship…

I would love to walk beside you.

Schedule a call with me, and let me help you get the relationship you desire.

You deserve clarity.

You deserve support.

And you deserve a love that feels like home.

Xx,

Elizabeth
